Experiencing Banff for the first time was an incredible highlight of living in Canada. It was a warm overcast day in August and in an effort to escape the crowds I rode my bike to this ‘out of the way’ spot. I created a sketch on the shores of the Lake Vermillion and completed it in acrylic, charcoal and pastel pencil in my studio in Kelowna, BC. This painting boasts many layers that you need to see up close.
